Garden & landscape construction · Berlin & surroundings
Paved surfaces, terraces, paths and fencing: we build outdoor facilities that match the architecture – and still sit level years later.
What this is about
The first impression of a property is made outside: at the driveway, on the way to the door, on the terrace. Garden and landscape construction is more civil engineering than meets the eye – whether a paved surface stays level is decided in the sub-base, not at the surface.
CAVCON plans and builds outdoor facilities in Berlin and the surrounding region: paving in concrete block and natural stone, terraces in slabs or porcelain, paths, parking areas, steps and fencing. As a construction company we think of outdoor areas together with the building – connection levels, drainage and material language work as one.
From the new front garden of a family home to the complete outdoor facilities of a new build: you get a fixed-price offer, one contact and a surface that is properly founded and drained.
Our standard
We build from the bottom up: only when the formation level, sub-base and falls are right do we start paving. That is why our surfaces come with what brochures can't offer – an honest build-up.
Scope of services
Driveways, courtyards and paths in concrete block or natural stone – compacted sub-base in layers, clean edge restraints, a consistent joint pattern.
Terraces in slabs, natural stone or porcelain – on grit bedding or pedestals, with the correct fall away from the house.
From slab paths to low-barrier access: hard surfaces that work in any weather.
Block steps, angle steps and small retaining walls – securely founded and neatly tied into the terrain.
Fences, privacy screens and walls as a clear boundary to the property – founded below the frost line.
Channels, drains and permeable surfaces: rainwater is directed away instead of standing at the base of the house.
Quality & workmanship
A paved surface is a layered system: compacted formation, frost-proof crushed-stone sub-base, grit bedding, paving, joints. Every layer has a job – and every layer saved takes its revenge after the first winter with ruts and trip edges. We compact in layers and document the build-up heights, matched to the load: a parking space needs a different build-up than a garden path.
On materials we advise honestly: concrete block is economical, dimensionally accurate and available in many formats; natural stone ages with dignity and suits historic architecture; outdoor porcelain combines the look of modern interiors with frost resistance. Falls (typically 2–2.5 % away from the building) and drainage are always part of the plan – water is the one constant outdoors.

Frequently asked questions
Area, material and sub-base are decisive: a garden path in concrete block costs far less than a natural stone driveway with a load-bearing build-up for cars. After a free site visit you receive a fixed-price offer including excavation, disposal and materials – no hidden items.
Almost always because of the sub-base: bearing layers that are too thin or not compacted in layers, missing edge restraints, or standing water. That is exactly why we build frost-proof sub-bases, compact in layers and edge surfaces properly.
Yes. A single terrace, a path or a new driveway are welcome projects. Clients often combine them with other work on the house – from the facade to the bathroom.
Yes – 2 cm ceramic terrace tiles are frost-proof, stain-resistant and colour-stable. They are laid on grit bedding or pedestals; as experienced tilers we handle this material confidently outdoors as well.
Yes. Channels, drains and permeable surfaces are planned in from the start – so rainwater stands neither at the base of the house nor on your new surface.
